Thanks for all the input yesterday guys. It's all settled for me now. For the sake of consistency I'm going with JIF, JAPEJ and PINJ.

@terryteachout JPG is JAY-PEG, there's no controversy about that one. If this argument dies down we can always start up The Oxford Comma one
@terryteachout The guy who invented the format says JIF and I say JIF. What more evidence do you need? :-)
In case you were wondering, JPG is not pronounced Japej (although it does sound cool that way)
